Our house has messy floors strewn with Lego, a never ending pile of washing, possums living in the roof and large cracks in the floorboard. It’s far from ideal! But my home has 3 pairs of hands that hug me, 3 pairs of feet (big and small) that run towards me when they see me, and 3 beautiful souls that I am grateful for everyday! And that is what makes my home special and is more precious to me than a perfect house!

I love my home because of who I share it with. Home could be a caravan or a mansion, but it wouldn’t be home without the 3 people I share it with!

So true and so lovely Fleur thank you xx

What I love about my home is there is always someone waiting to greet me at the door who is happy to go for long walks and listen to everything about my day… even if most days it is just the dog!

I love my home. It’s a hub where little grandkids can come and eat Nanas cakes and Granpas burgers. There is only love here for everyone.
I am currently babysitting my other grandson while his dad is at uni. He is a little foxie dog.

Home is where the heart is…
That saying is tried & tested with us.

We have recently gone from a very successful career & a beautiful home, to homeless, to a shabby little shack of a home.
My 3yo son has pointed out that home is where we are ‘happy together’. And I couldn’t agree more!
Sometimes, all it takes is the innocence & simplicity of a 3yo to point out the important things in life.

Much love & many blessings. xXx.

My son and I live in our home. It is not a house. It is our home with our hearts, our love and our memories. Our home is a safe, comfortable and fun place. It is a place where we can wear our pj’s all day, we can lick the beaters, we can build a cubby house on a rainy day and we dance like no one is watching. Home is where we share and make beautiful memories with family and friends. We love our home.

I love my home, it’s where my heart is. I love travelling and having adventures, but nothing feels as good as home does. It’s my ultimate comfort zone!

Mine too Sammie, the ultimate comfort zone indeed!! xx

I love that my home is somewhere my five grand daughters are happy to visit and want to stay over. Although they have parents who love and care for them, they also know they have another loving home and a Nana and Nonno who loves them dearly.

I am insanely biased with regard to my home…. Having been raised by a single mum in the 70s with very unsupportive traditional Italian parents, most of the homes I lived in (there were many… I went to 11 schools!) we’re dreadful with the worst one being lovingly called “cockroach castle”!

So… When I finally got my lovely apartment in Breakfast Point after years and years of hard work, I thought every aspect was perfection. The big open kitchen, dining, lounge and massive balcony area all in one essentially. The furniture, the “Long Island”/ beach house look and the fabulous walk in wardrobes.

    Then I had my daughter.

Now my favourite room is hers. The decor, the cute wall sticker artwork, the top of the bookcase filled with bears of significance from my life and hers and her gorgeous bed linen. Mostly though, I love how it morphs day by day with her “decorative touches” which I find terribly impressive for a child not yet 3.

Looking at the room I mostly feel tremendous satisfaction in knowing that despite the misfortune that has made life go full circle and made me a single mum now too, she won’t feel the sadness I felt in growing up in homes that were not only unpleasant but so temporary.

Elisa thank you so much for sharing all of this about your home, I love every word xx

My bedroom is the only room in my house that is just the way I want it to be – from the gorgeous blue bedspread to matching side tables all reflected in the mirror of the wardrobe. Even better when my kids are in my bed in their pyjamas singing after their shower. The rest of my home is a bit mismatched, as most of my furniture was donated after I left my marriage with nothing. One perfect room reminds me that there is progress and that eventually everything will come together.

Rachel your room sounds amazing! xx
Thank you for taking the time to share, I love the process of things coming together while rebuilding.
