It’s been 4 months since we said farewell to the Sydney Suburbs and made Ettalong Beach on the Central Coast of New South Wales home. Growing up in Terrigal looked a lot different to the Central Coast of 2017! I must confess that I did a weekend ‘review’ of the foodie scene before making the final decision to return to the Coast! It was such a relief to find so many new cafes and restaurants and lots of decent coffee. The Central Coast is finally a bit of a foodie playground with lots of joy to be found!

Influenced in the loveliest of ways by Rachel and her Photographing Happiness project, I have used my iPhone 6 with a little more intention over the past month. It has been during a time of emotional upheaval, packing to leave Sydney, Christmas and a new year all wrapped up in doubts and hopes! I tend to like a challenge, and finding the space within this busy period of time to stop and notice the moments turned out to be the perfect antidote to overwhelm.
I spend quite a lot of time at home, I like it here. Sometimes I wonder if I will look back on my life and wish I had travelled more and spent less time on the daybed, I doubt it. This is the place where the afternoon light falls, where the fairy lights frame our favourite photos, and where I taught my little person to read, write his name, hug, and stay warm on cold nights. It is also the place where we take haven together from the things that have hurt us. It is where we have healed together, in the light.
