It’s that time of year! The pressure to spend is relentless .. and you have the power to take a stand and shop for good this Christmas! Now more than ever the world needs you to shop for good. Besides running away for a month to avoid it all, or just not buying anything for anyone, making good shopping choices is your best option. (I have seriously considered the other two ideas!) Creating a list is a great place to start, who are you buying for and why? The why is the most important part, buying from a place of love not obligation will ensure that your list is shorter and your shopping is much more fun and meaningful!
There are loads of ways you can do good this Christmas, from shopping at lovely local stores, to putting gifts under the Wishing Tree .. these are some of my favourite ways to do good:
Give an “Inspired Gift” through Unicef and you could literally save a life this Christmas!
Little Paper Lane is a stationery lover’s dream store, run by one of the loveliest humans and her beautiful family. I love knowing that shopping here (online or in the store on Sydney’s Northern Beaches) is local, lovingly curated and just so happy!
The Kmart Wishing Tree is one of my favourite things to do as a family.
The Smith Family is a wonderful local charity and you know that they are working tirelessly to support the most disadvantaged children and families at this time of year.
You can literally send a girl to school by choosing this gift from Care Australia
World Wildlife Fund – I love this idea for kids especially .. your adoption of an animal such as a tiger, panda or lion cub also includes a soft toy for the recipient so it is perfect for kids in more ways than one!
Donate a Toy through the Simply Giving portal and you can choose which Aussie charity you want to support.
