Insider Guide: The Joys of the Central Coast: Part Two

FISH DINING COLLAGE

If you’re heading to the Central Coast this Summer these are my must visits for some of the best that our little part of the world has to offer! My recent birthday family dinner at Fish Dining was perfection, one of our local favourites Young Barons is pasta perfection and for a bit of high tea kitsch another local is Hatters Tea House. The Central Coast is a bit of a gem, and although this is no secret, having an Insider who adores the explore and who seeks out all things joy helps to narrow down where to visit!

So when I found out that the incredibly talented owners of Bombini in Avoca (the most divine dining space in every aspect) were opening a seafood restaurant I was naturally excited! I honestly can’t believe that more talented foodie types are not making the most of our water frontage and access to fresh seafood here on the Central Coast! Fish Dining was all that I had hoped for and more. The space in Point Frederick (just opposite the pool) is fresh and clean with the most amazing light at dusk and sunset. The food is fresh and vibrant, the service is just right and I highly recommend the Snapper Wings and the Ocean Trout.

YOUNG BARONS COLLAGE

Young Barons is a beautiful little space in Woy Woy, part of the highly anticipated #makewoywoygreatagain movement! If we had a few more of this type of space we would be well on our way to improving the place so nice they named it twice! So much potential in one little waterside town! As soon as you enter Young Barons you are quickly and effortlessly whisked away from the not so appealing location and into pasta heaven! The menu is tight which makes it a little easier to decide, although it is clearly all filled with love and careful foodie dreaming! The cocktail list is lovely, and that dessert you can see above is a deconstructed cheesecake and it is joy on a plate!

HATTERS TEA HOUSE COLLAGE

Hatters Tea House is far from fine dining, it is more about the treasures and kitsch factor! So much to look at and perfect for lounging about with some home made scones and tea selection from their amazing tea menu. A short stroll from home in the heart of Ettalong you will find this hidden cafe / tea house / high tea space. It even has a private room for small gatherings and you can buy some of the retro treasures if you fancy taking something home with you! It seems that they have also started making vegan treats and their High Tea is really well priced at only $40!
