This is the inspiration behind a new series of interviews and insights into the lives of those who simply want to lift others higher! It is something very close to my heart, taking our own experiences and sharing them so that others can feel less alone, more connected..and hopeful when it is most needed. The world is often filled with negativity, great sorrow and unimaginable pain and suffering, and it is so hard to stay focused on our own positive impact. Hopefully this deeply personal and uplifting new series of insights will shine some light on those amongst us who are creating some much needed positivity and encouraging lives less ordinary!

Where in the world do you call home?
Describe your home and neighbourhood briefly:
I live in the inner city of Sydney right near the water and loads of parks, which make for some really awesome running spots. I like to think of my home as a reflection of who I am, injected with my personality – it has fun elements (think confetti garlands), lots of white and clean lines with pops of gold and colour. Candles are everywhere and I love being surrounded by motivational quotes and inspiring art.
How would you describe yourself in 3 words:
Creative, quirky, happy.
What is the name of your blog / business / project?
What is the purpose at the heart of your blog / business / project + what do you ultimately hope to achieve?
I believe health and happiness to be the platform your life is built on, which includes everything from physical health and spirituality to confidence and self-worth.
My blog, Nourish is dedicated to inspiring change, fuelling growth + sparking creativity, with the intention of giving women the confidence and practical tools to carve out the life they’ve been dreaming about.
I created My Nourish Box as an extension of these values and hope to spread the message of self-love, self-care, ultimately encouraging people to take better care of themselves.
What do you think is the most important thing for us to teach the children of our generation?
To believe in their own self-worth; understand their purpose in this world and be compassionate to all living beings.
Which food and drink do you consider essential to your mental and physical wellbeing?
Drink: water – we can’t live without it!
In terms of food, through my studies at IIN (http://www.integrativenutrition.com/) one of the most important things I learned is that we all have our own unique make up which means that foods affect each of us differently. Generally speaking, a diet of wholefoods, loaded with fruit vegetables, protein, grains and seeds will fuel your body with the nourishment it needs to maintain optimal health.
How do you take care of yourself amongst the busy demands of daily life?
Eating good food, exercising and getting enough sleep are the foundation – these are my self-care non-negotiables. Layering this with taking time out to reconnect with myself through whether through yoga, meditation, reading or journaling, is equally important.
Is there a charity or cause that you are currently aligned with or that you are planning to support through your work in the future?
As someone who’s gone through and come out the other side of depression I’m pretty passionate about removing the stigma that’s often associated with it, so I’d love to support organisations like Beyond Blue to help spread the message.
What has been your greatest lesson in life so far?
In each and every moment we have the opportunity to choose how we act and respond – it comes down to whether you’re going to choose love or fear.
What is your best advice for anyone else who has a dream to be extra-ordinary?
It starts with finding your purpose, living your passion and believing in yourself enough to make it happen. Then it all comes down to making a plan and creating goals for yourself that will lead you to where you ultimately want to be.
Using your gifts to be of service to others while creating a life of love and happiness is a pretty extraordinary thing!

Holiday destination: Bali – I’ve never been but I’m super keen to go!

Memory: During my recent visit to the US in July, many memories were made, especially on our 2 day road trip from Portland Oregon to San Francisco. I will always look back on this trip with a big smile on my face.
