Photographing Happiness on the iPhone

Photographing Happiness

(ABOVE: A farewell dumpling date in our old neighbourhood)

Influenced in the loveliest of ways by Rachel and her Photographing Happiness project, I have used my iPhone 6 with a little more intention over the past month. It has been during a time of emotional upheaval, packing to leave Sydney, Christmas and a new year all wrapped up in doubts and hopes! I tend to like a challenge, and finding the space within this busy period of time to stop and notice the moments turned out to be the perfect antidote to overwhelm.

On the 12th of each month Rachel puts forward a suggested theme to our group of like minded photo lovers and this month it was B E G I N N I N G S  …

Divinely timed with our sea change, and as I chose these photos it was a lovely mix of endings, beginnings and rituals around all of this. Thank you Rachel for helping me to find some peace in one of the most emotionally fraught times for my little man and I. It served me well to simply use my iPhone during this busy time, now that we are settled into our new home I will be bringing out the cameras for next month!

A note on on my editing:

I shoot with the iPhone 6 camera and then edit in one of my favourite apps, most likely VSCO or A Color Story.

Hi Lisa Bravo. Your photos are gorgeous. I wish you well in your new beginnings in life. You are a mighty survivor. Life deals some tough hands sometimes. Grief never goes but changes. We are strong. I wish you happiness and sometimes we have to fight hard for that.
